Mr. Wang has been practicing mechanical and electrical engineering aspect of intellectual property for about fourteen years when, in 1996 he worked as an associate engineer for Shandong Huaneng Power Group. In 1999, he worked as an associate lawyer of Shandong Zhongyuan Law Firm, practicing corporate, intellectual property and contract law in China and working as a litigator and mediator in the areas.

In 2002, he joined CSPTAL, where he is now of the senior members and director of the mechanical practice group of the firm. Mr. Wang’s patent expertise covers all areas of mechanical and electrical engineering, including semiconductor, printing, electromechanical engineering, refrigeration, automation, automobile, optical devices, and electrical appliances. Mr. Wang provides services regarding patent search, Freedom-to-Operate investigation, after-final practice, IP trading and licensing, as well as patent enforcement litigation with both the patent administrative authorities and the courts. He also prosecutes patent applications in these areas, counseling inventors and patent owners on the scope and validity of their IP rights, and advises clients introducing products as to any potential for conflicting with others’ IP right as well as patent mapping and management of patent portfolios. Mr. Wang obtained his BS in mechanical and electrical engineering in China Ocean University and his juris master’s degree in intellectual property law in China University of Politics and Law. He was trained in an IP law firm, Scully Scott Murphy Presser LLP, in greater New York area in 2007. He continued his advanced study of IP law in Chicago-Kent College of Law through 2010-2011 and procured his LL.M degree in International IP and Comparative Law (honors).

Mr. Wang was admitted as Chinese attorney at law in 1997 and a patent attorney in 2000. He holds a vice director of the standing academic research committee in All China Patent Attorneys’ Association (ACPAA) and a senior member of All China Lawyers’ Association (ACLA). Mr. Wang is proficient in Mandarin and English.
