Songmei LUO Representative of US Office Senior Patent Attorney

Ms. Luo specializes in computer related software and telecommunication for IP protection. Ms. Luo’s expertise covers various areas including computer related software, Artificial Intelligent technique, communication and information technology, circuit and system design, as well as signal processing techniques.

Ms. Luo joined CSPTAL in 2002. She was qualified as a patent attorney before CNIPA in 2003. Ms. Luo practices on patent application filing, drafting, and preparing response to the Office Actions on behalf of domestic clients as well as oversea clients. Ms. Luo also provides legal services such as patent re-examination, patent searching, and other intellectual property related services. Ms. Luo participates in standards essential patents evaluation, claim analysis for patents and infringement analysis report. Ms. Luo is also familiar with the prosecution procedures and requirements before EPO and USPTO, providing services for Chinese clients in filing applications in Europe and U.S., and preparing response to the Office Actions.

Ms. Luo was trained in an IP Law Firm in California in 2008, where she learned U.S. patent law and patent examination practices.

From 2011 to 2014, Ms. Luo was a managing partner at a Chinese Intellectual Property Agent Ltd, in charge of the daily business operations for the company. She also worked in a Canadian based software company as a system analyst. Ms. Luo has many years of experience of developing software products and worked as a leader of client-requirement analysis team. Other than that, Ms. Luo provided on-site training for different groups of clients.

Ms. Luo earned her double degree in Intellectual Property major from Peking University in 2002 and bachelor’s degree in Computer Principles and Application from Information Engineering University in Zhengzhou in 2000.
